Actually, it means language, Esp. spoken or oral language. Hence there are so many compound words consisting “tongue”: common tongue, foreign tongue, mother tongue, native tongue and etc. • The French feel proud of their native tongue. • In most cases, people feel much less trouble learning their mother tongue than any foreign tongue. 【本讲课程的小结】 Today we analyze the contents of the passage, explain the language difficulties. 【本讲课程的作业】 1.
