2 / 7 教 学 过 程 设 计 A. iPrepare 引入场景环节 1. Setting the scene Although a healthy and happy life is a universal human pursuit, people are actually adopting different ways of living. Some think that a good life relies on healthy diets and regular exercise, while some others believe what really matters is a peaceful and calm mindset. Some people raise a pet to make themselves feel loved and valued, while some others, especially young adults, find it more comfortable to live with their parents. In this unit, you are going to explore the art of living through discussions about various lifestyles and hopefully find the way of living suitable for you. 2. Warming up 课前热身环节 1) In what ways are health and lifestyles closely related to each other? Give examples. For Reference: Apart from hereditary and environmental factors, lifestyle is another major factor that affects one’s physical and mental health. It has been proved by numerous scientific research that a healthy lifestyle helps to prevent diseases and prolong life. A good lifestyle is of vital importance to one’s health. The reverse is also true. Unhealthy diets and lack of exercise can increase the probability of obesity, diabetes and coronary diseases. One’s health condition may deteriorate due to the bad habits of smoking and overdrinking. Long-time exposure to stress also has an adverse effect on one’s health both psychologically and physically. 2) Do you think young people attach enough importance to their lifestyles? Give your reasons. For Reference: I don’t think young people attach enough importance to their lifestyles. Take college students for example. Some of them tend to stay up late into the night, get up late the next morning, skip breakfast and sometimes lunch altogether, constantly order food through food delivery apps, stay in the dormitory all day long without doing any exercise, and get addicted to their cellphones. 3 / 7 youth and health for granted without realizing how precious they are and that they must be cherished. I think at least some young people have realized the importance of lifestyles. They are the regulars of fitness clubs. They spend quite some time and money in order to keep fit. They like to go traveling with their friends to relax and refresh themselves so as to better cope with their work and study when they are back from their vacation. They also like to share their lifestyles with others on social media. B. iExplore 1: Listening and speaking 1. Listening Skills: 听力技巧讲解 Listening for and noting down numbers Numbers are everywhere in our life. They are very often used to clearly make a statement, illustrate a point, or give supporting statistics in listening materials. The same is true of a few audio and video materials in this unit. There are cardinal numbers (基数词) like 1998, which is pronounced as “one thousand nine hundred and ninety-eight”or “nineteen ninety-eight”if it refers to the year, and ordinal numbers (序数词) like 3rd, which is pronounced as “third.” Among cardinal numbers, there are fractions (分数) like 2/5, which is pronounced as “two fifths,”and decimals (小数) like 0.5, which is pronounced as “zero point five.” When you listen for specific numbers or the change of numbers, there are many common abbreviations and symbols which you can use for note-taking. For example: ↑ increase, grow k. thousand → remain steady % percent ↓ decrease $ /£/ € dollar / pound / euro ~ approximately, around
