I.Overview Why should Fujian be known to the outside world? -Fujian is one of the first provinces in China that is open to the outside world -Over 2000 years ago,Fuzhou began China's maritime shipbuilding industry -over the thousands of years Fujian was the great gateway through which sailed Chinese merchants and explorers,as well as foreign merchants,emissaries (envoys)and missionaries from all over the world
