Pyogenes) which produce erythrogenic toxins. Fever, pharyngitis, scarlet maculae over generalized erythema, and desquamation in convalescent stage. Immunopathogenic complications, known as rheumatic fever or glomerulonephritis, may occur in 2 to 3 wk after infection in some cases. 5 [Classification of Streptococci] Streptococci is divided into β- hemolytic streptococci, α- hemolytic streptococci and γ- hemolytic streptococci Hemolytic pattern. β- hemolytic streptococci are divided into 20 groups alphabetically A to H and K to V.
