2.What is a Sentence? A sentence is a group of words that you use to communicate your ideas in writing or in speech. (function) It is a complete,independent unit of thought and consists of two main parts:a subject and a predicate (form)

Simple sentence:containing a single main clause. Compound sentence:containing at least two coordinate clauses. Complex sentence:containing at least one main clause and one subordinate clause. Compound-complex sentence: two or more coordinated independent clauses with at least one complex clause Declarative:a sentence that makes a declaration.
