VIM is going to offer the undergraduates unparalleled coverage of pathophysiology, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases affecting domestic animals, including dogs and cats in the systems of digestion, respiration, nerve, blood, cardiovascular, urinary, and metabolism etc. VIM focuses on the clinical manifestations of disease and approaching disease in terms of the organ system involved, because animals should be evaluated in terms of presenting sign, not on the basis of disease. The students who finish and pass the whole process of studying VIM both theoretically and practically will be with a ready flowchart for aid in the identification and decision-making of each disease anticipated in domestic animal medicine. Knowledge Understand the etiology, pathogenesis, main pathological changes and clinical symptoms of common medical diseases. Skilledly use of veterinary clinical diagnostics of various examination methods, and analyse the results of the examination of the disease, to establish a correct diagnosis of the disease, the reasonable treatment and prevention methods. 2. Ability Through the theoretical study of common veterinary internal medicine diseases, including the etiology, pathogenesis, clinical symptoms, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases, combined with practical operations, making professional level to be enhanced and practical ability to be improved. 3. Skilledness Master the methods of measuring blood parametres such as serum calcium, testing methods of hydrocyanic acid poisoning, testing methods of liver function damage and testing methods of ketone bodies, so as to provide a basis for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. 4.
