Ask students to comment on the techniques in this expository writing,which the writer applies to make his essay more impressive and convincing. 2.Study of Text II: Ask questions on Text II to help students better understand the underworld Focus on the structural analysis of Text II. 3.Assignment Review Text I and Text II. Pre-reading questions: Test students on the background reading materials and see if they have basic knowledge of Antarctica; ask students some questions about Antarctica and the recent adventures of China’s Antarctica Expedition. 2. Study of Text I: Ask students to point out the key phrases in the text that describe the ice sheet of Antarctica. Ask students to tell the differences between the Arctic and the Antarctica.
