In introducing new products,Meditech consistently failed to keep up with demand during the flood of initial orders.In manufacturing all products,production capacity became strained as customers waited over six weeks to have their orders delivered.Poor delivery service was jeopardizing Meditech's reputation. 2.What is driving these problems,both systemically and organizationally? Forecasting had definitely been a problem,Meditech consistently had shortages with each introduction.Then,finished goods inventory levels appeared to be remarkably high,and there is"panic ordering"from dealers and affiliates.New Product Introductions,High Levels of Inventory,and Poor Service Level are driving these problems. 3.Why is the Customer Service manager the first person to recognize the major issues? Because Customer Service deals with everything from occasional customer complaints to establishing strategies to improve delivery service to customers. Customer Service representatives work with dealers and affiliates to keep them updated on product delivery schedules and problems.Often this responsibility places the Customer Service representative in direct contact with hospital personnel.So the Customer Service manager is the first person to recognize the major issues. 4.How would you fix these problems? I would fix these problems by taking the measures below. Generate a linear regression through past data to improve monthly forecasting. Pay attention to introducing new products by keeping up with demand during the flood of initial orders especially the first two week's peek with the improved monthly forecasting.Reduce 40%of overall inventory because it does not have an impact on the delivery service level and keep a production schedules matching the demand
