Concept Torticollis is characterized by neck rigidity,soreness and pain in the neck with difficult turning or limited movement on one side of the neck

Etiology and Pathogenesis Torticollis is usually caused by an awkward sleeping position,or invasion of wind cold into the local meridians and collaterals,leading to poor circulation of qi and blood,poor nourishment of tendons and tendon spasms

Acupoint Selection: ● Select Houxi(SI3),Xuanzhong(GB39), Ahshi points,Fengchi(GB20),Dazhuiz (DU14),Tianzhu(BL10),Jianwaishu(Sl14), Jianjing(GB21)and Laozhen(EX-UB)as main points.For difficulty in extending and flexing the neck,add Kunlun(BL60)and Lieque(LU 7).For inability to move the head from side to side,add Zhizheng(SI 7)

Acupoint Selection: ⚫ Select Houxi(SI3),Xuanzhong(GB39), Ahshi points,Fengchi(GB20),Dazhuiz (DU14),Tianzhu(BL10),Jianwaishu(SI14), Jianjing(GB21) and Laozhen(EX-UB) as main points.For difficulty in extending and flexing the neck,add Kunlun(BL60) and Lieque (LU 7).For inability to move the head from side to side,add Zhizheng(SI 7)

Method Puncture Laozhen obliquely upward 0.5 cun,twirling and rotating the needle gently leading to the needle sensation radiate towards the upper arm.Puncture Houxi 1 cun,making the needle sensation radiate towards the elbow.Ask the patient to move the neck after the needle is manipulated for 1-2 minutes. Puncture 2-3 points with the reducing method.Retain the needles for 10-20 minutes,manipulate the needles two to three times.Puncture 1-2 Ahshi points in the neck to produce a sensation of soreness and distension in the area
