1.Constipation due to Heat .Main Manifestations:Constipition,dry stool.fullness and distention in the abdomen and tenderness Accompanying Symptoms and Signs: Fever,flushed face,foul breath,restlessness,dry mouth,scanty yellow urine Tongue and Pulse Diagnosis:A dry and yellow tongue coating,a rapid and slippery pulse

1.Constipation due to Heat Main Manifestations:Constipition,dry stool.fullness and distention in the abdomen and tenderness  Accompanying Symptoms and Signs: Fever,flushed face,foul breath,restlessness,dry mouth,scanty yellow urine  Tongue and Pulse Diagnosis:A dry and yellow tongue coating,a rapid and slippery pulse

2.Constipation due to Qi Stagnation .Main manifestation:Difficult defecation, but the stool without being dry,abdominal fullness radiating to the hypochondrium Accompanying Symptoms and Signs: Bitter taste in the mouth,frequent belching Tongue and Pulse Diagnosis:A red tongue with thin coating ,a wiry pulse

Treatment Principle The general treatment principles are moistening the intestines and promoting bowel movement.The supplementary treatment principles are promoting the circulation of qi,dispersing stagnation and clearing away heat in case of constipation due to heat,regulating qi and promoting the circulation of qi in case of constipation due to qi stagnation,and reinforcing qi and invigorating Yin in case of constipation due to deficiency of qi and blood,warming Yang and dispersing cold in case of constipation due to accumulation of cold
