Etiology and Pathogenesis Invasion of the body surface by wind cold,the lung qi Irregular living unable to disperse(wind cold type) habits Attack of Invasion of the lung by wind Improper exogenous heat,the dysfunction of the pathogenic lung in descending(wind heat dressing factors on type) Common the lung and cold defensive qi Invasion of the lung by Over exertion through the summer heat,dampness mouth,nose,s invading the spleen(summer kin poress heat-dampness type) Weak body Deficiency of qi and weak constitution body constitution,pathogens retained in the body(qi deficiency type)

1.Wind Cold Main Manifestations:Chills,fever,headache, absence of sweating Accompanying Symptoms and Signs:Nasal obstruction,hoarseness of voice,runny nose,itching of the throat,cough,profuse thin sputum,soreness and pain of the limbs. Tongue and Pulse Diagnosis:A thin and white tongue coating,a flaoting and tense pulse

1.Wind Cold • Main Manifestations: Chills, fever, headache, absence of sweating • Accompanying Symptoms and Signs:Nasal obstruction,hoarseness of voice,runny nose,itching of the throat,cough,profuse thin sputum,soreness and pain of the limbs. • Tongue and Pulse Diagnosis:A thin and white tongue coating,a flaoting and tense pulse

2.Wind Heat • Main Manifestations: Fever, sweating, headache, dry mouth and sore throat • Accompanying Symptoms and Signs:Slight aversion to wind cold,cough with yellow thick sputum,nasal obstruction with thick discharge,thirst,weakness of the limbs • Tongue and Pulse Diagnosis:A thin and yellow tongue coating,a floating and rapid pulse

3.Summer Heat Dampness ● Main Manifestations:Recessive Fever,heaviness in the head(as if the head was tied up),a feeling of fullness and stuffiness in the chest and epigastrium Accompanying Symptoms and Signs:General aching and weariness of the four extremities,scanty and darkish urine with thirst Tongue and Pulse Diagnosis:Ayellow and greasy tongue coating,a soft and rapid pulse

3.Summer Heat Dampness • Main Manifestations: Recessive Fever,heaviness in the head(as if the head was tied up),a feeling of fullness and stuffiness in the chest and epigastrium • Accompanying Symptoms and Signs:General aching and weariness of the four extremities,scanty and darkish urine with thirst • Tongue and Pulse Diagnosis: Ayellow and greasy tongue coating,a soft and rapid pulse

4.Deficiency of Qi • Main Manifestations:Aversion to cold , fever, shortness of breath,an unwillingness to speak, headache,fatigue • Accompanying Symptoms and Signs:Nasal obstruction,cough with white sputum,frequent spontaneous perspiration,a poor appetite • Tongue and pulse:A pale tongue with white coating,a floating and forceless pulse

1.Wind Cold Treatment Principle:Dispersing wind,scattering cold,relieving the exterior Acupoint Selection:Lieque(LU7),Fengmen(BL 12),Fengchi(GB20),Hegu(LI4),Feishu(BL13) Method:Lieque is meedled obliquely upward 0.4 cun,and the other points are needled superficially about 0.6 cun.These points are punctured with the reducing method.Needles are retained for 10 minutes.Cupping therapy can also be used at Fei shu and Fengmen after the needles are withdrawn
