Supply Chain Management Introduction to topic Eliska Nyronen 7100309074 RFID Usage in Inventory Management These days many companies take advantage of different systems to monitor their inventories RFID,radio-frequncy indentification,is one of the options to achieve better knowledge of updated inventory numbers.Without any applications or systems it is very difficult and laborious task, although sometimes companies count the inventory manually to compare with the numbers their system has provided. Sometimes RFID readers may provide inaccurate information and there might exist some phantom inventory.By cross-checking the information from different readers the information accuracy can be improved and the probability of phantom inventory can be reduced. When the inventory numbers are up-to-date,it is more easier to avoid out of stocks and plan better the needed order quantities.System can also inform if the inventory for some product or products is out of stock or if the quantity is too low. What other possible applications than product inventory management RFID could offer?It could be used for example to help searching a missing person or animal.One useful place could be nursing home for demented senior citizens
