They can refer to the yardsticks centering around the"matter, method and manner"aspects of public speeches c. The speech should be less than 2 minutes long 4)Follow-up Activity I Time for Vote(Continuation of mock election speech"above) Purpose: to analyze what makes a good speech Steps: a. After the presentation of all candidates in the mock election activity, each of the audience members will have three votes for them, one for the president and two for the vice-president b. When the vote is complete, ask some students to elaborate on the reasons for their choice and try to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of each speaker 5)Follow-up Activity 2 Purpose: to polish students' ability to better organize ideas to call students'attention to body language and tone
