Grammar Comparison (2) Different types of adverbials may be used with comparison.They are placed before words of comparison in the comparative and superlative degrees and before the adverb as in the positive degree.E.g --Jane is five vears older than Helen. --Xiao Liu is by far the fastest runner in our school. --He is not halfas intelligent as his brother. Compare the English and Chinese ways of expressing comparison in the following instances: --We've produced twice as much cotton this year as we did in 1966.今年我们生产的棉花比1966年多了两倍
