I.What Culture Means General definition of culture is:the way people live. 。 Specifically,culture refers to the patterns and normal expectations of people's lives as passed within a certain place, including tangible and intangible elements. After these patterns are understood,it is easier to understand the role that "high culture"-such as art or music -plays within that particular tradition,as the ultimate expression of a particular people's perspective on the world

II.How the Irish Live Now Modern Ireland has experienced rapid social and economic changes:from a largely rural and traditional society to an urban and modern society where improvements in education, women's status and general economic prosperity are the major achievements. Ireland's modernization process abolished the law of "primogeniture"which favored the first born male in inherit the family legacy. ·The development also abandoned the state's“marriage bar?” which excluded women from work once they get married. There was also an enlargement of the middle class during the economic boom from 1990s to 2005
