Activate:Discussing: Live to eat,or eat to live? Sample All human beings need to eat to stay alive and to prevent other illness that could arise from malnutrition.A hungry man without discipline is capable of doing anything when he is hungry, even to resort to killing, stealing and lying. This is the result of desire, stemmed from a wanting mind;not because of hunger itself. Food has to either be found or bought, and once human beings understand the concept of eating just what the body needs, then life will be without problem. It will not be so hard for human beings to earn a living. We enjoy certain tastes to the extent that we overeat;we even eat when there is no appetite. We eat at wrong times;sometimes,as late as when we are about to go to bed, and sometimes,as early as soon after we rise in morning. If taste becomes our prime concern then we slowly drift to become a different kind of personality rather unknowingly. We become a materialistic person with concern for sensual pleasures alone. We begin to show less concern for other pleasures of life the pleasures associated with our emotional, intellectual and spiritual faculties. Activate:Listening:Food and Mood Pre-question:Do you think the food you eat can affect your mood? How? Sample: Yes,I think so.You must have heard the claims:Chocolate evokes that loving feeling. Eating fish makes you smarter.Pure carbs calm you down.If you are what you eat,as they say, then it certainly stands to reason that food can influence mood and brain power. The theory behind these supposed connections seems plausible.Certain neurotransmitters(神经传递素)do affect the brain. For instance,.high levels of serotonin (Il)are associated with being calm, happy and relaxed, while low levels are linked to depression and aggression.Dopamine(多巴胺)and norepinephrene(肾上腺素)are reward chemicals released by the brain in response to pleasure
