1 Report of the group discussion on the topic of Globalisation and Developing Countries. Mr. President, There has been a valuable discussion on the topic of Globalization and Developing countries. Twelve countries made their deliberations on the subject. Those countries are: China, Malaysia, Republic of Korea, Laos, Bangladesh, DPR of Korea, Cambodia, Iran, Mongolia, Thailand, Samoa and Japan. Most of the countries expressed that the Globalisation is a must in the present world, because with the modern technology and the interwoven economy of the world, the democratic countries cannot be away from this reality. However, the general opinion was that the Globalisation must be handled by individual countries depending on their own requirements. The countries must have to decide themselves individually how they should act in the process of Globalisation. Nevertheless, few countries expressed their opinion that the Globalisation would widen the gap between haves and have-nots. In fact, it has already led to close down factories and create mass unemployment in some of the developing countries. Therefore, the organization like AAPP must come forward to organize closer relationship and mutual cooperation between these countries, as an organization to meet the challenges of the economic field in the future. In addition to that, most the Members expressed their views that there must be a global legal authority to monitor that the basic Human Rights are preserved and safeguarded. Child labour also has to be totally banned and there should be relaxation of rules and regulations introduced by ILO and Environmental protection bodies

etc..The legal authority should be empowered to settle the matters that could arise between developed and developing countries Moreover, Members of the opinion that developing countries should be strengthened to meet the challenges of the economic globalisation by the developed countries. In this field, the Human Resources Development has been emphasized by the members Transfer of technology and remove of tariff barriers and reduction of Trade restrictions in add ition to the trade gaps that are existing today, also were considered as very important in achiev ing their expected goals. For example, China has acceded to WTO and established a Free Trade Zone where the cost of production has come down to 20% when compared with that of other developed countries It is suggested that some mechanism should be adopted to relieve the developing countries of their debt burden, as it has become an impediment to those countries in the process of meeting challenges of Globalization. Unless, some organizations help them to get out of their poverty, they will not be in a position to absorb good qualities of Free Trad If these requirements were not met out, they would affect the sovereignty and integrity of the developing countries. The member who expressed this opinion went further and said that the developed countries should respect the independence and sovereignty of the developing countries. In so doing, World Peace would be sustained in the future This report has been prepared by m. Y. ABEY WARDAND, Member of parliament of Sri lanka and Bang -One Xayarath. member of Parliament of Laos, under the Chairmanship of TARANATH RANABHAT, Speaker of the House of Representatives of Nepal
