Poems by Ezra Pound A Girl The tree has entered my hands, The sap has ascended my arms, The tree has grown in my breast- Downward, The branches grow out of me,like arms. Tree you are, Moss you are, You are violets with wind above them. A child-so high-you are, And all this is folly to the world. of lily-of-the-valley She lay beside me in the dawn. An Immorality Sing we for love and idleness, Naught else is worth the having. Though I have been in many a land, There is naught else in living. And I would rather have my sweet, Though rose-leaves die of grieving, Than do high deeds in Hungary To pass all men's believing. Ione,Dead the Long Year Empty are the ways, Empty are the ways of this land And the flowers Bend over with heavy heads. They bend in vain. Empty are the ways of this land Where lone Walked once,and now does not walk But seems like a person just gone. A Virginal No,no!Go from me.I have left her lately.
